3. Using the Iron & Ironing press the fusible fleece to the wrong side of the main fabric pieces.

4. Place the main fabric & coordinating fabric right sides together.

5. Cut around the fusible fleece leaving at least ½” hangover of the fabric.

Machine Preparation:

6. Attach the Adjustable Stitch in the Ditch Foot for IDF system onto the ankle.

7. If your Sewing machine has an IDT (Integrated DualFeed), engage it at this point.

8. Insert a Sewing Needle size 80/14 needle into your machine.

9. Thread your machine & bobbin with coordinating 50wt Cotton Thread.

10. Select a straight stitch with a length of 2.5mm.

Project Instructions:

11. Take the flap fabric sandwich & using the guide on the Adjustable Stitch in the Ditch Foot for IDF sew along the curved edge of the fusible fleece. Backstitch at the beginning & end. Leave the straight side open.

12. Cut around the flap piece leaving a ¼” hangover of fabric. Clip around the edge of the curve for a smooth curve once turned.

13. Turn the flap piece right side. Using the Safety Stiletto gently push out the curve.

14. Using your Iron & Ironing Board press the flap piece.

15. Attach the Adjustable 1/4" Foot with Guide for IDF system onto the ankle.

16. Topstitch around the curve of the flap piece using a ¼” seam allowance.

17. Using the Adjustable Laser Sewing Guidance quilt the flap piece to your desire.

18. Place the main fabric body piece with the fusible fleece right side up on your work space.

19. Place the quilted flap piece right side down along the straight angled edge as shown in the photo below.

20. Place the coordinating fabric body piece right side down on top of the main fabric body piece with the flap sandwiched between them. Clip or pin together.

21. Attach the Adjustable Stitch in the Ditch Foot for IDF system on to the ankle.

22. Sew around all the sides of the fusible fleece leaving a 4” opening on a straight side to turn. Backstitch at the beginning & end.

23. Cut around the main piece leaving a ¼” hangover of fabric. At the 4” opening, leave a ½” hangover. Make little clips with scissors at the corners for a clean point once turned.

24. Prior to turning use your Iron & Ironing board press the ½” hangover wrong sides together.

25. Turn the scissor case right side out. Using the stiletto push the corners out to have clean points.

26. Attach the Adjustable 1/4" Foot with Guide for IDF system on to the ankle.

27. Topstitch around the scissor case using a ¼” seam allowance closing the opening as you sew around.

28. Using the Adjustable Laser Sewing Guidance quilt the scissor case to your desire.

29. Lay the scissor case out, coordinating fabric side up, fold the side over, coordinating fabric sides touching as shown in the photo below. Clip or pin together.

30. Topstitch from end to end of the fold over to secure it.

31. Fold over the other side of the scissor case, as shown in the photo below. Clip or pin together.

32. Topstitch the section that was folded over, as shown in the photo below.

34. Lay the scissor case right side up. Fold the last section over, main fabric to main fabric & clip or pin in place as shown in the photo below.

35. Fold the scissor flap down & mark a 1” horizontal line, 1” up from the curve centered.

36. Attach the Sensor One-Step Buttonhole Foot onto the ankle.

37. Select the buttonhole stitch on your sewing machine.

38. Measure the button on the mm ruler at the front of your machine. Ours measured 25mm.

39. Adjust the button size on your machine to the measured size of your button.

40. The #1 rule of stitching out a buttonhole is to stitch out a practice buttonhole first. Once you’ve confirmed the buttonhole that was stitched out is the correct size, stitch out a buttonhole directly over the line marked on the scissor case flap.

41. Cut open the buttonhole stitched out.

42. With the scissor flap folded down, using a marking pen, make a mark through the buttonhole as a placement mark for the button.

43. Attach the Button Foot with Placement Tool on to the ankle.

44. Select the “Automatic Sewing Button” stitch on your sewing machine.

45. Sew the button on to the last flap over the area marked in step #42.

46. Attach the Adjustable 1/4" Foot with Guide for IDF system on to the ankle.

47. Fold over the last flap so that the main fabric is touching the main fabric. As shown in the photo below.

48. Topstitch this last section that was folded over & along the bottom ½” section to keep the scissors from poking out.
