Description
Not sure which group your machine belongs to? Check the Machine Compatibility Chart.
Stitching in the ditch means sewing directly in the finished seam of a quilt or binding.
The seam typically has a higher side where the seam allowances have been pressed and a lower side without the seam allowances.
How to use:
- Snap on the Adjustable Stitch-in-Ditch Foot. Thread the machine with matching or invisible thread on top, and use thread that matches the quilt backing in the bobbin.
- Place the fabric under the presser foot, aligning the centre guide with the seam. The guide will automatically ride along the lower side of the seam, helping you stitch accurately in the ditch.
- If the stitching is not perfectly centred in the seam, adjust the needle position up to three steps to the left or right.
- To pivot 6mm (¼") from the edge, stop sewing when the front guideline on the foot aligns with the edge of the fabric.
