HUSQVARNA® VIKING® Gathering Foot

The Gathering Foot is ideal for gathering a single layer of fabric or for gathering and stitching two layers of fabric at the same time. The bottom layer of fabric will be gathered while the top layer stays flat. Suitable for light to medium weight woven fabrics.

1. Set your overlocker to the desired stitch.

2. Attach the Gathering Foot.

3. Place the bottom fabric layer (the layer to be gathered) between the needle plate and the Gathering Foot, right side facing up, and slide it all the way to the cutter.

4. Position the top fabric layer into the opening of the Gathering Foot, right side facing down, and align it with the bottom layer.

5. Lower the presser foot and begin sewing. Guide the fabric along the fabric guide, allowing the bottom layer to feed freely so it gathers as you sew.

• Increase the needle thread tension

• Set the differential feed to a higher number

• Adjust the stitch length to a higher number

You can also gather a single layer of fabric by placing it under the foot and adjusting the stitch length, differential feed, and needle thread tension to achieve the desired amount of gathering.
